Gesture Capture is a real-time drawing performance that makes use of custom software to aid in the creation of a series of elaborate line based textures.

More Info
20 or more detail pictures of the space are selected and used as reference. I will trace and copy elements from each picture at random intervals. Gestures are captured and repurposed on a large projection screen at different sizes, shades and angles (see video for reference). This process results in an emerging texture inspired by the space. The canvas is cleared from time to time, resulting in an ongoing series of generative line based renderings.
Improvisation is part of Gesture capture. Based on audience feedback, the overall mood of the space and the state of Gesture Capture's current output, additional gestures ranging from simple shapes to more complex forms may be added by at will.
